Newmachar's Martin Lawrence won the top prize of £584 in today's Craigielaw Young Pros' 36-hole tournament at the East Lothian links today.
Lawrence has made appearances on the EuroPro Tour but this is his best performance since winning the inaugural Sandy Pipey Masters young pros' tournament at Royal Dornoch GC last season.
At Craigielaw, he shot 70-68 for a four-under-par total of 138 and a two-shot victory from joint runners-up Michael Patterson (Kilmacolm) (69-71) and Paul Betty (Hamilton). Each earned £362.
The shot that separated the winner from his pursuers came at the long 15th where he recorded an eagle 3 to set beside his birdies at the first, fourth, 13th, 15th and 18th.
On the downside, Lawrence bogeyed the eighth, 10th, 12th and 16th.
Former Curtis Cup player and British women's open amateur champion in 1990 and 1995, Julie (Wade/Hall) Otto, now a teaching pro at Elie Sports Centre, earned £62 for an aggregate of 148 (77-71).
