ROBERTSON v FOTHERINGHAM IN QUARTER-FINALS

Top seed - the only surviving one - Graeme Robertson (Glenbervie) swept into the last eight of the Scottish amateur championship with a 6 and 4 win over Craig Deerness at Royal Dornoch GC this afternoon.
At the same time Bryan Fotheringam from Forres, now playing out of Inveness, chalked up a 5 and 4 win over Gordon Stevenson.
That means it will be Robertson v Fotheringham tomorrow morning in the quarter-finals.
It's not the first time Bryan has been in the last eight of the "Scottish" - in 2005 he reached the quarter-finals of both the "Scottish" and the British Amateur ... and lost both ties but gained his first caps for Scotland on the back of those performances.
