STEWART LEADS SIX SCOTS INTO LAST DAY AT ROWALLAN CASTLE

By COLIN FARQUHARSONColin@scottishgolfview.com

Duncan Stewart is still in with a chance of a last-day crack at winning a £10,000 jackpot prize for a second time on the PGA EuroPro Tour - and he has five fellow Scots for company in the last round of the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters at Rowallan Castle GC, Ayrshire.
David Law, Chris Kelly, James Byrne, Elliot Saltman and Jordan Findlay, alongwith Stewart, survived the second-round cut at 150 or better.
Stewart, the overnight leader with a 66, slipped back to a one-over 72.
However, on 138 and in joint third place, two shots behind leader Graham Benson (Leighton Buzzard), he

has a sporting chance of winning if the putts start to drop with regularity.
Law, now playing out of the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, shot up the leaderboard with the joint best score of the day, a 66, despite a double bogey 6 at the last after a bag of eight birdies. The Aberdonian rookie is joint seventh on 139 - a shot ahead of Cawder's Chris Kelly who had a double bogey 6 at the 15th in the midst of six birdies.
James Byrne (IMG) slipped from an opening 67 to 75 and is joint 18th on 142.
Jordan Findlay, the former British boys champion from Fraserburgh, had a 71 (which included three birdie 2s and a triple bogey 7 at the 15th) for 144.
Elliot Saltman (Archerfield Links) (73-73) and made the cut to the top 50 and ties right on the limit mark of 146. Younger brother Zack missed it by two.

In fact it was not a good day for Lothians players in general, although some, like Greg Nicolson (68) had good second-round scores, only Elliot Saltman from that area is through to the last day's play.
Mark Kerr was disqualified and Myles Cunningham retired.
