CARRBRIDGE AND CRAIGIEHILL SHARE TOP SPOT AT BOAT OF GARTEN

 NEWS RELEASE FROM SGU
Carrbridge and Craigie Hill shared top spot after the fourth regional qualifier for the 2012 Belhaven Best Captains & Secretaries Championship earlier this week.
At delightful Boat of Garten in the north, local Carrbridge duo Barney Mackie and Nia Morrison posted a five-under-par score in the four-ball, better-ball stroke-play, with a 3/4 handicap allowance, format.
It was a tally matched by David Logie and Hugh Macmaster from Perth club Craigie Hill, with four clubs qualifying a shot behind them. Among that quartet were home club duo Debbie and James Grant, as well as Turriff duo John Paterson and James Stephen.
Kintore (James Black and Charlie Lindsay) and Earlsgate were the final two qualifying pairs on three-under-par.
The last remaining regional qualifier takes place at Erskine on August 29.
The grand final of the Belhaven Best Captains and Secretaries Championship for the 40 qualified teams is at Pollok on September 19.
The national championship for Scotland's captains and secretaries is open to all SGU affiliated golf clubs. Now in its seventh year, the championship has quickly become one of the country's most popular events.
