Pictures by Robbie Stewart  All good things must come to an end and Laurie Phillips' bid to win the Steadfast Scotland Cruden Bay Challenge Cup four-day open tournament for a seventh year in a row failed narrowly over his home course today. Playing Nick Macandrew (Royal Aberdeen) for the third successive final, Phillips, a one-time Scottish schoolboys champion, lost at the 20th. And so Nick avenged his brother Donald's defeat by Phillps in the morning semi-finals. TODAY'S RESULTS  Semi-finals - L Phillips (Cruden Bay) bt D Macandrew (Royal Aberdeen) 4 and 3; Nick Macandrew (Royal Aberdeen) bt J Godward (Cruden Bay) 5 and 4.
