DOWNFIELD "A" WIN ANGUS COUNTY BOYS' TEAM TITLE

Downfield A emerged as winners of the Angus county boys' team trophy competion, played in in a bitterly cold and very strong wind at Ballumbie Castle Golf Club.

They won with a total of 326 which was seven strokes better than runners-up Monifieth A.

Best individual score of the day was a 73 by Ewen Matthew (Kirriemuir A), a great score in the difficult conditions. Unfortunately one of his team-mates had a No Return, which meant that Kirriemuir A could not return a team score.

The handicap team prize was won by Downfield C with a total of 290
