PERMANENT MASTERS BAN THREAT TO WRITERS OVER PHONES

They run a tight ship at the Masters. If you don't obey the rules at Augusta National, you walk the plank, no matter who you are - even the golf writers!
Here's it all spelled out in a message to them

Reminders for Cell Phone Use by the Press at the Masters

All press accredited to attend the Masters Tournament may have cell phones for use inside the Press Building only.
Under no circumstances should cell phones leave the Press Building. Violation of this policy will subject the credential holder to removal from the grounds and permanent loss of credentials.
If not left at their workspace, writers may register and leave cell phones with the building’s reception staff when on the golf course.

If that's what they promise to do to an "offending" golf writer, what on earth to they do to an "ordinary" member of the public who takes a cell phone on to the golf course itself.
Hanged from the nearest tree probably or burned at the stake.
