HARRINGTON SETS COURSE RECORD 1O-UNDER 61 IN TRANSITIONS

FROM THE EUROPEAN TOUR WEBSITE
Ireland's Padraig Harrington began the Transitions Championship in Florida with a dazzling course-record ten under par 61, the lowest round of his career.
Down to 90th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Harrington held an early five-stroke clubhouse lead on his return to action after failing to qualify for last week's World Golf Championships event.
The three-time Major winner started with back-to-back birdies at Innisbrook, finished with three in a row and had five more in between.
American Kenny Perry, now 51, was Harrington's closest challenger out on the course. With three to play the former US Ryder Cup player stood six under but he dropped a shot and fell into a multiple tie for second place on 66.
Martin Laird opened with a disappointing two-over 73 while Masters champion Charl Schwartzel could do no better than a 76.
