COLIN FRASER (Peebles) wins E and EofS Alliance Trophy at Glenbervie

The Edinburgh and East of Scotland Alliance field of 88 headed for Stirlingshire yesterday to compete for The Alliance Trophy at Glenbervie Golf Club in the last outing of the regular season.
Scratch and handicap prizes were very closely contested but the overall winner of the Alliance Trophy, thanks to a better inward half, was scratch golfer Colin Fraser of Peebles with a net 70.
The best Scratch score of one under par 70 was achieved by no fewer than six players - 
Allyn Dick (Kingsknowe) 34-36
Derek Fish (Glenbervie) 35-35
Colin Fraser (Peebles) 36-34
Jamie Morris (Peebles) 36-34
Andrew Oldcorn (Kings Acre) 35-35
David Patrick (Elie) 32-38

The best handicap score was a net 70, shared three ways:
Derek Fish (Glenbervie) 70 less 0
Colin Fraser (Peebles) 70 less 0 (bih)
Hugh Fraser (Niddry Castle) 72 less 2

Senior prize for the day went to William Marr (West Lothian) with net 74 (84 less 10)

The Handicap Order of Merit was concluded and saw late changes in the top three:
1st Jamie Morris (Peebles) 132.5 points
2nd Allyn Dick (Kingsknowe) 125.0 points
3rd Steven Dand (Pumpherston) 118.0 points

The Scratch Order of Merit, which will be concluded after the end of season championship at Gullane Nos 2 and 3 next week, saw no change in the top three:
1st Stephen Lamb (Cardrona) 591.5 points
2nd Andrew Marshall (Houston Golf Range) 583.5 points
3rd Jamie Morris (Peebles) 581.5 points

The championship at Gullane next Wednesday will feature the top 60 available players in the Scratch Order of Merit and play will be for the Uniroyal Trophy, currently shared by Andrew Oldcorn and Jamie Morris.
