FOUR-WAY TIE ON 71 AT MIDLAND ALLIANCE SEASON OPENER

The Midland Golfer’s Alliance held their first meeting of the 2011/12 season at Thornton Golf Club in Fife. The course was in excellent condition despite the awful weather of late.

There was a four-way tie for first place in the scratch,  Braehead pro Jamie Stevenson, Henry Wong, Wellsgreen assistant pro, Paul Brookes, Pitreavie pro, and Edzell pro Alistair Webster all shooting  one over par scores of 71. There was also a tie for the handicap prize. Gill Muir (Burntisland), who plays off eight, and Carnoustie 14-handicapper Alan McEwan both scoring net 67s.
