Kingsknowe's Allyn Dick won the SGU Order of Merit's Newlands Trophy 72-hole event at Lanark Golf Club today for the second year in a row.
Dick, pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency,had scores 68, 66, 71 and 70 for a total of five-under-par 275.
He won by one stroke from James White (Lundin), the 2006 Scottish boys match-play champion and winner of the Tennant Cup last month.
Ross Noon (Craigielaw) was third on 277 (70-71-68-68) while Graeme Robertson (Glenbervie) had yet another top-5 finish, tieing with Sam Binning (Ranfurly Castle) on 278 for joint fourth place.
Dick, twice Scottish mid-amateur champion before he gained his first cap for Scotland in last year's home internationals, took lead by three shots at half way but White produced a great third-round 66 to Dick's 71 to share the lead, three strokes clear of the field, going into the final round.
Dick edged out his rival over the last 18 holes with a par-matching 70 to the Fifer's 71.
Dick has strong ties to Lanarkshire. He has been Shotts club champion for the past seven years and is a former West of Scotland champion.
