DYLAN SMITH WINS PAUL LAWRIE NE UNDER-14s TITLE AT ALFORD

The Paul Lawrie North-east Under-14 years boys' championship at Alford was by Dylan Smith of the home club with a scratch 72.
Ben Henderson (Deeside) was runner-up, finishing a shot behind with a 73, and Paul Lawrie's younger son, Michael, also a Deeside GC member, was a close-up third with a 74.
The handicap section was won by Greg Carrell (Peterculter) with a net 62 off 22 of a handicap by virtue of better inward half than Stephen Roger (Cruden Bay) who also had a net 62, off 14.
Ben Green (Inverurie) was third best in the handicap category with a net 66 off 23. He also prevailed with a better inward half. Sam Locke (Inchmarlo) (17) and Ross Cooper (Peterculter) (16) also had net 66s.
The Under-12 years category was won by Cameron McArthur (Newmachar) with a net 70 off 13 of a handicap.
