CRAIBSTONE SUMMER ALLIANCE OPEN ON WEDNESDAY

By COLIN FARQUHARSON

Anyone golfer in the North-east - amateur or professional, male or female - who is looking for a competitive round on Wednesday should bowl along to Craibstone Golf Club on the northwest suburbs of Aberdeen for the Craibstone Summer Alliance Open over 18 holes.
Normally a visitor's fee at Craibstone is £35 but you can play the course in this open competition for only £15. Craibstone GC members pay even less - £10.
Tee times for the competition are available from 8am to 2pm Wednesday.
Phone Golf Operations manager Billy Sim on 075533 47143 to book a tee time for you and your friends. Bring along as many as you can!
Prizes in all the different categories so if Rory McIlroy turns up, you would be competing with him but not against him.
Rory McIlroy? Aye, he plays off 15 at Newmachar.
Maximum handicaps for the Craibstone Summer Alliance Opens - 20 for males and 30 for females. That doesn't mean to say you can't play if your official handicap is say 23 (male) or 32 (female). All it means is that for the purposes of the Craibstone Summer Alliance Open you will be able to deduct only 20 (or 30) from your gross score.
Catering at the Brimmond Bistro in the Craibstone clubhouse is available all day - and not only to members and golfers. If you are passing by and fancy a cup of coffee and a scone, Billy Sim and Co will be delighted to see you.
