AMERICANS NAMED FOR PGA CUP MATCH IN SEPTEMBER

FROM THE PGA WEBSITE
GB and I PGA Cup captain Russell Weir and his 10-man side have discovered the majority of the United States team that stands in their way of a historic first win on America soil.
The conclusion of the PGA of America's PGA Professional National Championship in Pennsylvania unveiled eight of the side that will be skippered by PGA honorary president Jim Remy.
The final two players in the side will be announced after the USPGA Championship in August.
This year's 25th PGA Cup Match is being played at CordeValle Resort, San Martin, California, between September 16-18, with the GB and  I team aiming to wrestle back the Llandudno Trophy, which was first competed for in 1973.
Leading the US challenge is the new PPNC champion David Hutsell of Baltimore. Hutsell, 40, the PGA director of instruction at The Elkridge Club won the championship following a two-hole play-off at Hershey Country Club.
Hutsell will make his first appearance on the US team in the premier international competition for PGA Professionals.
Joining Hutsell are Danny Balin (Burning Tree Country Club, Connecticut); Faber Jamerson (Falling River Country Club, Virginia; Scott Erdmann (Oswego Lake Country Club, Oregon); Sonny Skinner (River Pointe Golf Club, Georgia); Rob McClellan (Butler Country Club, Pennsylvania); Mark Sheftic (Merion Golf Club, Pennsylvania); and Mike Small (University of Illinois, Illinois).
Balin, Erdmann, Hutsell, Jamerson and McClellan will be making their first appearance in the PGA Cup. Sheftic and Skinner, who each competed in 2009, will be making their second appearance, while Small will be playing on his fourth straight team.
The PGA Cup brings together PGA club professionals in the US and Great Britain and Ireland in a matcplay tournament that adopts a Ryder Cup style format.
The US has never been defeated on home soil but GB and I came within half a point of breaking that record in 2007.
The US retained possession of the Llandudno Trophy, awarded to the winning team, with a 17½ to 8½ victory in September 2009 at The Carrick in Loch Lomond.
+The GB and I side for the PGA Cup match is:
Gary BROWN (Ganton).
Simon EDWARDS (Wintermere).
Rob GILES (Greenore).
Chris GILL (Exeter)
Craig GOODFELLOW (Carlisle Driving Range).
Stuart LITTLE (Minchinhampton).
Matt MORRIS (Walmley).
David MORTIMER (Galway)
David SHACKLADY (Mossock Hall)
John WELLS (Cherry Burton).
