SCOTS LOSE TO SPAIN IN EUROPEAN MEN'S TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

 Scotland finished sixth in the European men's amateur team golf championship at Vilamoura Victoria Golf Club on Portugal's Algarve.
The Scots lost their last match 3 1/2-1 1/2 to Spain.
Scotland's only winner was Hazlehead's David Law who had a comfortable 4 and 3 victory over Antonio Hortal.
The half-point came from Banchory's James Byrne who halved with Scott Fernandez.
Scottish champion Michael Stewart, now ranked in the world's top 10 amateurs, suffered a surprisingly heavy defeat, 5 and 4, at the hands of former British boys champion Adrian Otaegui.

Greg Paterson and Kris Nicol lost to Ignacio Elvira and Juan Francisco Sarasti 3 and 2.
Michael Stewart lost to Adrian Otaegui 5 and 4.
James Byrne halved with Scott Fernandez.
David Law bt Antonio Hortall 4 and 3.
Ross Kellett lost to Oliver Mena 6 and 5.

FRANCE ARE EUROPEAN MEN'S CHAMPIONS
France are European champions. They beat surprise finalists Switzerland 4 1/2-2 1/2.
Germany beat Sweden 4-3 to take the bronze medals.
Finland beat Ireland 3-2 to relegate Ireland to eighth and last in the championship flight.
Wales topped Flight B by beating Austria 3 1/2-2 1/2.
England finished 15th by beating Iceland 4-1 in their final match in Flight B.

SCOTS BOYS FINISH WITH 4-1 WIN OVER CZECH REPUBLIC
Scotland finished their Flight B campaign with a 4-1 win over the Czech Republic in the European boys' team championship at Prague City Golf Club.
That meant the Scots boys finished 13th in the championship, having failed to make the top flight of eight at the end of the two-round stroke-play qualifying.
There were wins by Grant Forrest, Greg Marchbank, Eamon Bradley and Jack McDonald against the Czechs who got their point from a 2 and 1 foursomes win over Ewan Scott and Anthony Blaney.

Jack McDonald bt Daniel Suchan 3 and 1.
 
Spain won the European boys' title by beating Austria 5-2 in the3 final.
Ireland finish sixth after losing 3-2 to Germany today.
