WILLIE SHARPE'S LANARKSHIRE COUNTY NEWS

Lanarkshire president Willie Sharpe with the leading prizewinners. James Steven is third from the left.

James Steven of Bothwell Castle won the Lanarkshire boys’ spring meeting on Sunday at Carnwath with a superb scratch 66 four under par. He pipped his Lanarkshire team-mate, Craig Ross of Kirkhill, who scored 67.
James was level par through 13 holes but made four birdies in last five holes for a storming finish.
