FRASER McKENNA BEST OF SCOTS IN SPANISH QUALIFIER ROUND 1
Balmore's Fraser McKenna is the best placed of the four Scots in the big field at the conclusion of the first stroke-play qualifying round of the Spanish international men's amateur championship at Real Club de Golf El Prat today.
McKenna had a two-over-par 74 to be in joint 19th postion - five shots behind the joint leaders, Germany's Marcel Schneider and Spain's Adrian Otaegui.
Peter Latimer (St Andrews New) had a 76 which leaves him in joint 39th position in the scramble to make the qualifiers for the match-play stages.
Kingsknowe's Ally Dick had an 81 for a share of 87th place while Scott Larkin (Royal Aberdeen) has the proverbial mountain to climb after an 83 left in sharing 96th position.
