BELGIAN WINS AMELKIS CLASSIC IN MOROCCO

Belgium's Guillaume Watremez won first prize of 5,000 Euros in the EPD Tour (PGA of Germany) event, the Amelkis Classic, at Amelkis Golf Club, Marrakech in Morocco.
Watremez had rounds of 69, 67 and 67 for a 13-under-par total of 203.
He won by two shots from Morocco's Faycal Serghini and former British amateur champion Reinier Saxton who shared second place on 205 and won 2,500 Euros each.
Ben Parker, English-born son of a Germany-based club pro, finished fourth on 209 and won 1,425 Euros. Ben's sister Florentyna Parker plays on the Ladies European Tour.
Motherwell's Paul O'Hara finished out of the money - he missed the cut.

October 8 to 15
2nd Morocco Golf Festival. Three competitions for amateurs spread over five different courses in the vicinity of Marrakech. Open to any man or young man (maximum handicap 28), woman or young woman (maximum handicap 36).

October 18 to 21
1st Morocco International Amateur Championships at Agadir. RandA World amateur rankings individual tournaments for men and women over 72 holes at The Ocean Course. Handicap limits for these event only: men/youths 9, women/girls 11.
Three-round individual tournaments for senior men (55 years or over on first day of tournament) and senior women (50 years or over) over 54 holes at The Soleil Course. Handicap limits for these events only: senior men 15, senior women 18.
Also three-round individual Stableford tournaments at The Dunes Course for any male with handicap of 28 or under and female with handicap of 36 or under.
