A bid  by members to re-open and operate the two golf courses at Letham Grange Hotel, Arbroath is to be discussed in detail later this month.
All  the club's members are being asked to attend a meeting, to be held at the Meadowbank Inn in Arbroath on March 14 (7.30pm), to see if they support the committee's business plan.
"In the last few weeks we have had great support from Angus Council, the Scottish Golf Union, and an array of others, that has allowed us to make this key step forward," said golf club secretary Gardiner Arthur.
