REINIER SAXTON SHARES LEAD IN HOOTERS TOUR EVENT
Dutchman Reinier Saxton, who beat England's Tommy Fleetwood in the 36-hole final of the British amateur championship at Turnberry in 2008 and is now a professional, was one of four players sharing the lead on five-under-par 67 after the first round of this week's NGA Hooters Tour event at Sugarloaf Mountain Golf Club, Minniola in Florida.
The others were Americans Elliot Gealy, David Makle and Luca Leibel.
Former Scotland junior cap Robert McKnight, who now lives at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was in joint 17th position with a 70 over a long par-72 course of some 7,107yd.
