European individual men's amateur championship

Byrne joint seventh with one round to go in Finland

James Byrne will need to shoot low figures in the fourth and final round if he is to win the European men's individual amateur championship in Finland.
With a round to go the 21-year-old from Banchory is in joint seventh place on six-under-par 212 - not a bad effort by any standards - but he is nine shots behind the two-shot leader from Denmark, Lucas Bjerregaard who has had rounds of 68, 71 and 64 for 13-under-par 203.
He leads by two shots from Sweden's Jeff Karlsson and English champion Tommy Fleetwood from Formby Hall.
Byrne, Ross Kellett (216) and Kris Nicol (218) were the only Scots to survive the cut at 219 or better.
