Russell Knox 14-under-par for 72 holes - only jt 19th on eTour

Inverness exile Russell Knox returned a 14-under-par total 270 but that gained him only joint 19th place in the Bolle Classic at Country Club of Salisbury, North Carolina on the highly competitive eTour pro golf circuit.
Knox had rounds of 66, 71, 64 and 69 over the par-71 lay-out to earne $2,704.
Winner of the $34,140 top prize with a phenomenal total of 26 under par 258 was American Tommy Biershenk with scores of 68, 63, 65 and 62.
He won by a single shot from former British amateur champion Drew Weaver who had ronds of 66, 65, 63 and 65 for 259, earning $16,975.
A third American, Lee Williams, was third on 262 with scofrs of 64, 64, 67 and 67. He earned $16,975.
Below Knox in the final standing were England's Jamie Hall (joint 41st on 274 with scores of 66, 72, 68 and 68) to earn $1,455 and Ireland's Niall Turner who finished joint 55th with 72, 66, 69 and 69 for 276.
So high is the standard of play on this American satellite circuit that Joel Hendry, originally from Elgin and twice a winner of the Scottish youths championship,missed the cut with a 36-hole total of 139 (70, 69).
