Last round costs Gunn a high finish in Arizona

Dornoch exile Jimmy Gunn earned $1,275 for a joint 23rd place finish in this week's Gateway Tour event in Arizona, at Trilogy Golf Club at Power Ranch.
Gunn would have been disappointed with that because, with one round to go, he was on the tail of the leaders.
But Jimmy slumped to a one-over-par 72 in the final round after earlier scores of 69 and 66, finishing on six-under-par 207 - a very good 54-hole total but, on this highly competitive satellite tour, not low enough to make even the top 20.
Gunn had birdies at the fifth, long 13th and long 17th in his final round but dropped vital shots at the first, short sixth, ninth and 16th.
There was a three-way tie for the top money. Jesse Mueller shot an incredible final round of 11-under-par 60 - see what I mean about high standards - to hit the 14-under-par 199 mark. His earlier scores were 67 and 72.
Kendall Critchfield equalled that total with scores of 70, 65 and 64 and the third American in the play-off was Ryan Hogue with scores of 67, 64 and 78.
No news yet of how many holes the play-off lasted but we do know the $16,000 top prize went to Critchield with Mueller and Hogue receiving $8,575 each.
