David Roger wins West of Scotland Golfers Alliance Championship.

By JOHN CARRELL
Secretary, West of Scotland Golfers Alliance
A total of 64 amateurs and 16 professionals contested the outing at Falkirk Tryst Golf Club. Conditions were fantastic with no wind and plenty of sunshine. The course, in excellent condition for this time of the year, produced many praiseful comments. Our thanks to all at Falkirk Tryst for helping to make our day successful.
The WSGA Championship is held over two rounds, one at Lanark Golf Club and one at Falkirk Tryst Golf Club. David Roger (Windyhill Golf Club) took the honours at both events to walk away with the championship.
Two Eagles and five birdies helped David win the event at Falkirk with a four-under-par card of 66. This, combined with his 68 at Lanark last week, gave him a total of 134 over the two outings to become the 73rd winner of the event which has been running for 77 years. Nearest finisher was last year's champion, Stephen Gray, on 137.
New member this year Johathan D'Aguillar (Glasgow) (11) and Hugh Semple (Hayston) (9) tied for first place to share the Handicap prize, carding net 68s.
Seniors prize went to William Houston (Torrance House) and James Kinloch (Cardross) who both scored net 68s.
