Bad day at the office for Russell Knox in North Carolina

Russell Knox from Inverness had an uncharacteristic poor round of 74 to drop from joint 14th to joint 30th after two rounds of this weekend's Hooters Tour event at Rock Barn Golf & Spa at Conover, North Carolina.
Florida-based Knox, who had a 70 in the first round over the par-72, 7180yd course, slumped to a triple bogey 6 at the shot third and had further bogeys at the 11th and 16th. He did birdie the seventh, eighth and 18th, not enough to offset the mistakes.
With two or three players having to finish their second rounds on Saturday morning - including David Skinns from Lincoln, a former US college circuit player, Yohann Benson from Montreal leads the field with 67 and 68 for 135 - three shots ahead of Will Wilcox from Alabama with scores of 73 and 65.
