A fistful of dollars for Russell

Knox in Oklahoma

Florida-based Russell Knox from Inverness earned $4,355 for a joint ninth place finish in the weekend NGA Hooters Tour event, the Buffalo Run Classic at Peoria Ridge Golf Club, Miami in Oklahoma.
Knox shot 23 birdies over 72 holes in compiling a total of 13-under-par 275 with rounds of 68, 70, 69 and 68 over the par-72, 6,960yd course.
He finished 11 shots behind the winner of the $33,566 prize, Ted Potter from Florida, who beat Martin Flores from Texas at the fourth hole of a play-off after they had tied on 20 under par 268. Flores' consolation prize was $16,607.
Englishman David Skinns from Lincoln collected $11,013 for third place on 269 after a tournament low final round of 62.
Knox has now won $25,477 in five appearances on the Hooters' Tour this season. He missed the cut in one but has had three top-10 and one top-12 finish in the others.
