Morrice and Edmond taken to the last green

Leading qualifiers Lee Morrice (Caledonian) and Barrie Edmond (Bon Accord) who will play off over 18 holes strokeplay for the Royal Aberdeen Medal next Wednesday (5.15pm) both came through tight encounters to progress to the last eight of this years event.
Morrice and Edmond both claimed last hole victories against Ian Welsh (Bon Accord) and Walter Ross (Caledonian) respectively.
Elsewhere, last year's low handicap winner Sean Murray (Bon Accord) progressed to the quarters of the main event with a 2 & 1 victory over Steve Forsyth (Northern).
Northern veteran George Paterson is left to fly the flag for his club after a resounding 6 & 5 victory over clubmate Robbie Stewart.
