Tiger Woods' eight single putts give

him 68 at Palmer Invitational

Tiger Woods had eight consecutive single-putts, including four consecutive birdies, on the opening day of the Arnold Palmer Invitational today at Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, Florida.
Woods, the defending champion and a five-time winner at Bay Hill, shot a two-under-par 68 that left him in joint 10th position, three shots behind leader Jeff Gore's 65.
In his third tournament since an eight-month layoff following reconstructive knee surgery, Woods scrambled his way through his outward half then put together a string of four birdies, starting at the 11th.
Tiger's playing partners were Irishman Padraig Harrington, the Open and US PGA champion, who began with a par 70, and Mark Wilson who "beat" them both with a round of 67.
