McKay and Rae tie at windy Brechin

The Midland Golfers Alliance held this week's meeting at Brechin Golf Club. The early starters took full advantage of the calm conditions in the morning before the wind got up to near gale- force in the afternoon.

Joint winners of the scratch section were Wellsgreen professional Donald McKay and Michael Rae, the Alyth assistant, with three-under-par scores of 69.

Winner of the handicap award by three shots was Dick Robertson (Brechin with a net score of 70 off four.
