US trio named for Eisenhower Trophy

Rickie Fowler, Billy Horschel and Jamie Lovemark will represent the United States at the World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy from October 16 to 19.
Royal Adelaide Golf Club and The Grange Golf Club West Course in Adelaide, Australia are the venues.
All three players were members of the USA’s victorious 2007 Walker Cup team at Royal County Down, Northern Ireland.
Kyle Stanley was named first reserve, while 2008 U.S. Amateur runner-up Drew Kittleson of Scottsdale, Ariz., was named second alternate.

... and Ireland too

Jonathan Caldwell, Shane Lowry and Paul Culter will represent Ireland in the Eisenhower Trophy world men's amateur team championship.
Caldwell, who played in last year's Walker Cup at Royal County Down, was a member of the Irish team who won back-to-back European team championships in Turin this year to go with last year's victory at Western Gailes.
Lowry, the current West and North of Ireland champion, has shot up through the world amateur rankings this year. The 2007 Irish close champion currently occupies fifth spot in the world and regards his role in Ireland's back-to-back European team championship titles as being his most memorable moments in golf so far.
Cutler was also a member of the victorious Irish team in Turin and has a wealth of experience at international level, having represented Ireland in the boys' home internationals and the European boys' team championship.
A record 72 countries will compete in this biennial event, two more than the number which played in South Africa in 2006. On that occasion the Netherlands emerged as champions while Ireland finished 12th position.
