Scott Henry wins Sutherland Chalice

By NICK RODGER
Scott Henry claimed his second SGU Order of Merit 72-hole tournamen title of the season this evening after edging to a narrow win in the Sutherland Chalice at Dumfries & Galloway.
The former Scottish stroke-play champion from Cardross, who lifted the Edward Trophy back in April, reeled off closing day rounds of 66 and 69 for a 12-under aggregate of 268 and a one shot win over Comrie’s Wallace Booth.
Caprington’s Steven McEwan, runner-up in the Edward Trophy and the Tennant Cup this year, grabbed third on 270 with a 66 and a 70.
Halfway leader Lewis Kirton (Newmachar) had to settle for fourth on 271 after final day rounds of 69 and 70.
Henry took over the lead with a 66 and then held Booth at bay over the closing round.
Kris Nicol from Fraserburgh had the lowest round of the tournament - a six-under-par 64 in Sunday's final round. That fine effort helped him to finish on 273 and on his own in fifth place.
+Our apologies for giving Kris a wrong score, a wrong total and a wrong finish in our earlier version of this story.
