Byrne leads North-east youths

to victory at Inchmarlo

Banchory’s James Byrne spearhead North-east to a comfortable win over North and Angus in the inter-district youths’ stroke-play golf tournament at Inchmarlo Golf Centre, Banchory.
Byrne took the overall individual honours with rounds of 65 and 69 for a total of 134 – three shots ahead of North’s Fraser Fotheringham (Nairn) with 68 and 69. David Millar from Oldmeldrum was third with 74 and 67 for 141.

North-east’s best seven from eight counting indidividual rounds over the 36 holes gave them a team total of 1004. North were second with 1036 and Angus third with 1066.
