Scottish U-14 boys' champion is England's
choice for R&A Junior Open at Hesketh

Harry Whittle, a member of the England Under 16 Training Squad, has been selected to represent the EGU in the R&A’s Junior Open at Hesketh Golf Club, near Southport on July 14 to 16.
Whittle sprang to prominence last year when he won the Douglas Johns Trophy as well as the Scottish boys' Under-14 open championship. He also finished tied sixth in the English boys' Under-14 Championship for the Reid Trophy.
These successes almost earned him an Under 16 cap, but he was named as reserve for the Under 16 International with Scotland and later played for the England Under-16 side against the England under 18 girls team. Whittle was named in the England Under-16 Squad this year and will celebrate his 15th birthday four days after the R&A Junior Open.
The Scottish Ladies Golfing Association has already nominated Annabel Niven (Crieff) for the girls' event of the R&A Junior open but the Scottish Golf Union has still to name its representative.
