Chris Hanson’s good form continued in the opening round of the Stoke by Nayland Championship, shooting 69 to lead overnight.
Hanson (Crosland Heath/GO2SPORT.com) led after two rounds at Bovey Castle last week and put in another fine performance in windy conditions in Suffolk today.

He parred the first eight holes before posting his first birdie on the ninth, and although he wiped that out with a bogey at 10, further birdies at 12, 14 and 16 sees him one shot clear at three under.
Former Scottish amateur champion from Aberdeen, Graham Gordon (SWM Golf Management) started his round on the back nine with a couple of bogeys, completing his first nine holes one over par, but birdies at one and two and another on the seventh saw him post 70 for his opening round.
and bogeys on the front nine – his back nine – after posting a birdie at 14 to be one under at the turn.
The second round begins at 7.30am with live scoring available at www.europrotour.com
