DOAK WINS NORTHERN OPEN FOR SECOND TIME

Chris Doak knew what it took to win a Northern Open and he also got to know the Spey Valley course a lot better by the fourth and final round than he did on his arrival.
Put that all together and it adds up to closing score of 66 for a total of 274 which won him the top £8,000 prize by three shots from young Lee Harper (Archerfield Links).
Poor young Lee equalled his best score of the week - a three-under-par 69 - but lost three shots on the leader. Still £6,000 is a nice consolation prize.
