CRUDEN BAY 2 v MURCAR LINKS
IN SENIOR COUNTIES CUP

The Aberdeen and North-East clubs who have enjoyed their best Senior Northern Counties Cup competition since 2002 provide the two finalists, Cruden Bay's second team and Murcar Links's first team in Friday morning's final at Duff House Royal.
Royal Aberdeen provided the shock of the quarter finals beating the host's No 1 team after four extra holes, Royal Aberdeen's David Hutchison and Derek Walker getting their side through at the 22nd with a par figure against the home players Jim Robertson and Dale Wilson's bogey.
Former Walker Cup player, Hugh Stuart, when partnering Harry Bannerman for Murcar Links had their his names on the main cup as a winners in 1965.
Stuart now has a chance of a senior medal after helping Murcar beat their neighbours,Royal Aberdeen by seven holes in the semi final. Stuart's partner is Clifford Alexander and the second string, Eric Morrison and Bill Fyfe.
Cruden Bay's second team won the main competition in its centenary year of 2000. Brothers Bill and Hugh Livingston were first team members in 2000 but now leading the second team completed by pairing Mike Keddie and Ron Middleton they ended the host club's hope of a second senior cup win when they beat the Duff House second team by one hole in the semi final, this after beating the holders, Elgin, by six holes in the quarter finals.

Murcar Links 1 beat Royal Aberdeen by seven holes.
