Dubai Desert Classic stage set for great finish

TIGER TOPPLED AS ERNIE ELS
SHOOTS A 65 FOR ONE-SHOT
LEAD FROM HENRIK STENSON

Tiger Woods' glory run of victories may be about to end in the Dubai Desert Classic which ends at the Emirates Golf Club on Sunday.
Woods, leader through the first and second rounds, was knocked off the No 1 position in the third round by South African Ernie Els.
The "Big Easy" surged to the top with a brilliant round of seven-under-par 65 for a 10-under-par tally of 206.
Els, pictured above, had an eagle and five birdies to open up a one-shot lead over Sweden's Henrik Stenson, who had a 68.
Woods needed the strong finish he produced in the second round - two very late birdies - but maybe the world's No 1 golfer is human after all and not a golfing machine. He bogeyed the par-5 18th to finish on one-over-par 73 - his first score over par in something like 30 consecutive rounds.

Tiger will start the final round on seven-under-par 209 alongside Lee Westwood (68) and Graeme McDowell (69).
So Woods has three shots to make up on Els, not to mention Stenson. It should be a great finish on Sunday.
Incidentally, Ian Poulter - the Englishman who was pilloried earlier in the week for a "Tiger and me" article in Golf World magazine, outscored Tiger by three shots with a round of 70.
Andrew Coltart, playing with a card on the European Tour this season, for the second Saturday in a row dropped out the front rank with a par 72 to be joint 19th on 212.
To score par on the European Tour these days, is to lose ground and Coltart's scores have been going "backwards" since Thursday. He needs to break 70 on Sunday to keep his momentum, earn decent money - and earn more sponsors' invitations to play.
