BANCHORY PRO STEWART DAVIDSON BEATS
FIELD OF 95 FOR WIN AT MURCAR LINKS

Banchory professional Stewart Davidson scored his first win of the
North-east Golfers' Alliance season with a two-under-par score of 68
over Murcar Links today.
Davidson headed a field of 95 with birdies at the first, ninth and
13th. His only blemish in halves of 33 (two under par) and 35 (level)
came with a bogey 5 at the 17th.
He had a shot in hand of home course amateur David Corkey who dropped
his only shot at the fourth before birdieing the fifth and ninth in 34
to the turn. On the homeward journey, Corkey could not get a birdie
putt to drop and reeled off nine straight pars.

The pull of the North-east Alliance is such that David Law and Nigel Parker pulled out all the stops to get to Murcar Links today despite being in far off places only a few hours earlier.

Young David, a pupil at Aberdeen Grammar School and a 16 year old member of Hazlehead Golf Club, dashed back from Portugal where he was with a Scottish Golf Union training squad.

Nigel Parker set off on his journey home from the Far East and literally completed the long haul by walking on to the first tee at Murcar Links in one of the last groupings.
