REPORT:

The best of the winter season played out to find who was the best and the frosty conditions didn’t detract from the spectacle or the excitement. The scores were good and the competition was close and in the end the best team over the piece walked away with the prize – but don’t think that it could not have gone another way.
In fourth place BM Trucks did all that was expected and their 42 shots were only 18 behind the winning total but the top three teams were separated by just eight shots, which in this game is just one ball.
Northern Ironmongery, the perennial high achievers, scored 51 and could have won again, but scores of 56 and 59 were just too far ahead for them.
Fairways, who won the Tuesday title right at the death, just failed in the double and Castle View Personnel took a small fillip from their season by taking the Top Team Play-off Title with their best of the night score of 59 shots.
The Captain's Cup was an equally exciting affair and the bouncy surface required a deft touch. This was exhibited by two players, both of whom broke the 20 shot barrier. In the runner up spot was last season’s winner, David Joel of Castle View Personnel, fresh from his Top Team triumph.
He recorded 23 but found that his nemesis from the previous night, Gerry Allan of the Old Swingers, once again had the better of him. The 26 shots that Gerry managed took the first ever trophy for the Old Swingers.
