BRYAN FOTHERINGHAM WINS NORTH
ALLIANCE BY FOUR STROKES
WITH 67 AT NAIRN DUNBAR

Of the two main predictions regarding Saturday's North Scottish Golfers' Alliance fixture at Nairn Dunbar, one did not materialise - the rain forecast petered out, but Bryan Fotheringham (Forres) ran away with the leading scratch award by four strokes from playing partner and clubmate Jim Simpson and Allan Cameron from Inverness.
Bryan's five-under-par round of 67 included birdies at the first, fourth, ninth, 12th, 14th and 17th holes against a solitary bogey at the eighth.
Alan Brown of the host club won Handicap Section 1 with a net 69 while Boat of Garten pair Ian Murray and Tommy Loynes shared the top award in Section 2
There was a field of 108.
