McINNES SWOOPS WITH EAGLE

Murcar Links tour professional Graeme McInnes grabbed an eagle 2 at the last hole to tie with Gary Forbes, the head pro at Murcar Links), for victory on three-under-par 64 at today's North-east Alliance competition at Huntly Golf Club.
McInnes, pictured right, had four 2s in all - three of them birdies at the the second, third and sixth. He also had a birdie 3 at the 15th. A double bogey 6 at the 16th almost scuppered his hopes but that late eagle saved the day in halves of 31 (two under par) and 33 (one under).
Forbes, in contrast, confined his sub-par scoring to the first, fifth, sixth and 10th. He had a solitary bogey 4 at the third. He parred the last eight holes and also had halves of 31 and 33.
To complete a Murcar Links 1-2-3 for the second week in a row, amateur Anthony Bews finished third with a 65 (32-33) by birdieing the 15th and 18th.
