KIRKPATRICK SITTING PRETTY BUT
KNOX HAS IT ALL TO DO IN USA


Scots David Kirkpatrick and Russell Knox are placed joint 19th and joint 42nd with one round to go in the US PGA Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 event at Grasslands Golf & Country Club, Lakeland in Florida.
Kirkpatrick, a Scotland amateur international in the early 1990s, has been a resident of Lakeland for many years. He has scored 72, 71 and 67 for 210.
Knox needs a sub-70 final round if he is to progress to Stage 2.
Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Knox has had rounds of 72, 70 and 72 for a two-under-par tally of 214.
Only the leading 26 and ties after the fourth round will go on to Stage 2.
Edinburgh exile David Kirkpatrick, a long-time resident of Lakeland, Florida, is better placed in joint 19th place with 72, 71 and 67 for 210.
Akio Sadakata leads on 13-under-par 203 with scores of 70, 67 and 66.
In another Stage 1 event, at Florence Golf Club, South Carolina, Welsh Walker Cup player and former British boys champion Rhys Davis is lying joint 22nd on 207 with scores of 74, 63 and 70. American Casey Wittenberg leads at 14-under 196 with 68, 67 and 61.
