BAD LIGHT ENDS PLAY-OFF IN LAST EVENT
OF TARTAN TOUR SEASON AT MONIFIETH

The last event of the Tartan Tour season - the Monifieth Four-ball - ran out of daylight today at 6pm and a play-off between two pairs who had finished with better-ball 63s had to be abandoned after the first extra hole was halved.
Paul Jamieson (Dunblane New) and Alan Lockhart (Ladybank) tied with Edward Thomson (Largs) and Graham Fox (West Kilbride) on the eight-under-par mark over the Monifieth Links Medal Course. Each pair won £700.
"We gave the players the option of carrying on to a second extra hole but because it was a par-5, they decided it would be far too dark by the time they got to the green and they settled for a share of first place," said Scottish PGA tournament director Hugh Malcolm.
Lee Vannet (Carnoustie Golf Links) and Dean Robertson (Medarns Castle) tied with Gary McFarlane (Clober) and Chris Kelly (Cawder) for third place on 64 and each pair earned £450.
