US-based Scots Russell Knox from Inverness and David Kirkpatrick from Edinburgh were tied for 33rd place with par 72s in the first round of the US PGA Tour Qualifying School Stage 1 event at Grasslands Golf & Country Club, Lakeland, Florida.
Three Americans shared the lead on six-under 66.
