WOODS (out in 28) GOES THREE CLEAR
WITH A 63 IN US TOUR EVENT
Tiger Woods took control of the US PGA Tour Championship with a second-round 63 - which could have been a 61 but for two bogeys on the inward half - for a 36-hole tally of 13-under-par 127 at East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta today.
Woods had an eagle and five birdies in reducing the front nine to 28 shots (seven under par). He even holed a bunker shot at the fifth.
The US PGA Tour record for nine holes is 26, set by Corey Pavin.
