LAIRD SCORES UNDER PAR - AND LOSES
GROUND IN NATIONWIDE TOUR EVENT

Martin Laird from Glasgow survived the halfway cut in the latest US Nationwide Tour event, the quaintly-named Utah Energy Solutions Championship with a five-under-par 36-hole tally of 137. His scores so far are 68 and 69 and he is lying seven strokes off the pace being set by American Franklin Langholm with 63 and 67 for 12-under-par 130.
Underling the high standard of play on America's No 2 men's pro circuit, Laird started the second day in joint 30th place .... shot a two-under-par round ... and DROPPED BACK to joint 38th place!
Welshman Richard Johnson is one of four players sharing second place on 131. Richard's scores have been 67 and 64.
Irishman Keith Nolan also made it through among those with tallies of four-under-par 138 or better. Keith has scored a pair of 68s for a share of 27th place on 136.
