EUROPEAN CHALLENGE TOUR REPORT
AND THIRD-ROUND SCORES

Germany’s Tobias Dier shares the lead in the European Challenge Tour OKI Mahou Challenge de España with Finland’s Antii Ahokas on 15 under par 201 at the Golf Campo de Layos in Toledo.
Overnight leader Dier, currently 87th in the Challenge Tour Rankings, needs to win to help his efforts to retain his playing privileges for 2008 on the circuit – and he used that incentive to shoot a third round four under par 68.
The 2002 winner of the Dutch Open on the European Tour said: “I have been playing better than my results have been showing, but this week it’s clicking. I’m making putts, not making mistakes and not three-putting, which makes a big difference.
“Of course, I need to win to keep my card. I know this. But I am feeling that this week can be my week. I will just keep on doing what I’ve been doing.”
Ahokas, in fifth place at the start of play, fired a super eight under par 64 to advance his bid for an inaugural victory in his first season as a Challenge Tour professional. The 22 year old had nine birdies but bogeyed the last hole for his only blemish.
He said: “I am very happy to shoot my lowest score on the Challenge Tour. It felt great and I am right in contention. To win would be a dream come true but we have 18 holes left and a lot of good players are in the hunt.”
One of those is England’s Robert Dinwiddie, who is tied third with Challenge Tour Rankings leader, Chile’s Felipe Aguilar, on 12 under par 204. The pair are three shots further back, after firing respective third rounds of 67 and 70.
Should Dinwiddie catch Ahokas and Dier, he will register his third win of 2007 and earn automatic promotion to the European Tour.
