Allied Surveyors Scottish men's amateur championship

LATEST NEWS FROM PRESTWICK


Top seed Lloyd Saltman (Craigielaw) was the first man into Friday morning's quarter-finals of the Allied Surveyors Scottish men's amateur championship at Prestwick Golf Club.
He beat former British amateur champion Craig Watson (East Renfrewshire) by 4 and 3 in the first Fifth Round tie to finish.
Keir McNicoll from Carnoustie was the only other seed to make it through to the last eight.
Scottish youths champion Scott Borrowman (Dollar) ended the reign of defending champion Kevin McAlpine (Alyth) while John Gallagher (Swanston New) knocked out Callum Macaulay (Tulliallan).

SALTMAN (Seeded No 1) bt Watson 4 and 3.
McAllister bt O'Hara 1 hole.
McNICOLL (Seeded No 4) bt Mann.
Bryston bt Heslip at 19th.
Thomson bt Findlay at 21st.
Borrowman bt McALPINE (Seeded No 3) 1 hole.
Gallagher bt MACAULAY (Seeded No 7) 3 and 1.
Hillson bt Clark 2 and 1.
