DEAR AND BORROWMAN NOT IN HUNT FOR
MEDALS AT WORLD STUDENT GAMES

Stirling University's Gavin Dear and Scott Borrowman are lying joint 24th and tied 36th in a field of 85 players with one round to go in the World Student Games' men's golf championship at Watermill Golf and Gardens, Thailand.
Dear (Murrayshall Golf Club) has scored 73, 75 and 74 for a six-over-par tally of 222.
Borrowman (Dollar GC) has had ever-improving rounds of 81, 75 and 70 for 226.
Best placed member of the Great Britain team is England international Charlies Ford who has scored 71, 75 and 69 to be joint second on one-under-par 215, one shot behind the joint leaders, Ming-Chuan Chen (Taipei) and Aaron Goldberg (United States).
Britain (657) are fifth in the team event which is led by Japan.
In the women's events, Ireland's Danielle McVeigh has a seven-stroke lead in the chase for the golf medal. She has scorted 72, 75 and 69 for level par 216.
Anna Scott from the North-east of England is her nearest rival of 223.
Emma Fairnie (Edinburgh University) has not had a counting score so far for Britain after not playing in the first round.
Ireland are heading for the gold medals in the women's team event. Danielle McVeigh, Niamh Kitching and Gillian O'Leary lead by eight shots from Great Britain.
