SCOTS LYING JOINT 12TH IN HOOTERS
TOUR EVENT IN OKLAHOMA
Glasgow's Scott Jamieson, campaigning as a rookie professional on the NGA Hooters Tour in the United States, was lying joint 12th at the halfway stage of the Buffalo Run Casino Classic at Peoria Ridge Golf Club, Miami in Oklahoma.
Jamieson, who turned pro last November after four years on the US college circuit as a student at Augusta State University and also topping the SGU Order of Merit table in 2006, has had scores of 65 and 69 for 10-under-par 134 over the 6,960yd course.
This is his eighth event on the mini-tour and he has missed only one cut so far. So high is the standard of play on the Hooters Tour that only those who scored five-under-par 134 survived the halfway cut in this event.
They included Florida resident and Edinburgh exile David Kirkpatrick, who has had a pair of 67s to be alongside Jamieson on 134.
Ulsterman Gareth Maybin from Ballyclare, one of the most successful non-Americans on the Hooters Tour over the past couple of years, is in joint 20th place on 135 with scores of 68 and 67.
Englishmen Steven Tiley from Canterbury and Lincoln's David Skinns, both former US college players, are on 137 and 139 respectively.
Colin Speirs from Dunkeld, another ex-American college student, missed the cut by seven shots with 77 and 69 for 146.
Australian Andrew Tschudin leads the field with a pair of 64s for 16-under-par 128.
